Day 6 – Firework

She was like a firework, loud and volatile, but man was she pretty…
A being of such exquisite beauty, with aspirations to always fly so high above this city…
She speaks from a chariot of fire, cause she knows she’s a deity…
And even if I’m blinded by her bright light, I have to see what does with her every possibility….

You want to compare her to the sun because at times she can shine so bright,
But she’s a melanin Queen, so she truly shines like the night…
Those stars you see in the skies? Just the twinkle from her eyes…
And that ever cascading moon? Just the shape her mouth takes as she laughs and smiles…

Because the night is more alive, and more richly colored than the day…
And like Van Gogh, the night is the greatest canvas on which she plays…
And while that cascading colour is the essence of what all men chase…
But that’s just a taste, because while her beauty is all consuming, it’s her mind which is the gunpowder, the potassium nitrate…

You see she speaks her mind, and will not stay silent when the world needs to hear her thoughts…
But her silence is the most dangerous thing in the world, because she speaks volumes without,
ever saying one word, but you know the trouble you’re in, no doubt…
Cause you can’t run from her when she explodes, let it be known she’s got a dangerous mouth…

You see you can’t change everything in one night, but one night can change everything…
And I may never be her John Updike, but she has changed my perspective on everything…
I want to hold on to her forever, and be the one who gives her, her everything
But she’s like a firework, if I hold on to her and stop her from reaching the sky, then I’ll lose my everything…
